Terms & community rules
Version 2026-10-14 · Effective 14 October 2026
These terms apply to the Writers Supply directory, community wall and forums. When you register, you must actively accept this version. Using a listing does not give you permission to enter property or paint.
1. Walls, permission and access
Wall listings are information only. They are not permission, a permit, a legal opinion or a guarantee that painting is currently allowed. A listing may describe a booked activity, a limited surface, a closed site or a location awaiting confirmation.
You must contact the landowner or responsible council before each visit, confirm permission for the exact surface and activity, and follow current access times, permit requirements, age restrictions, safety instructions and site rules. Check signs when you arrive. If permission is unclear, do not paint or enter restricted property.
You are responsible for your decision to attend or paint and for obtaining any required consent. Writers Supply does not grant permission on behalf of councils, landowners or venue operators. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss arising from your failure to obtain permission or follow site conditions. This does not exclude any responsibility that the law places on us.
2. Shop information
Addresses, product ranges, coordinates and source links are dated information and can be wrong or become outdated. A product badge may describe a chain’s catalogue rather than stock at a particular branch. Confirm the location, opening hours, price and exact product with the shop before travelling. Maps and routes are planning aids; follow actual road and access conditions.
3. Membership
Email accounts use Supabase Authentication. Existing accounts may also use hosted ChatGPT sign-in. Creating a Writers Supply member profile is a separate step requiring a display name and acceptance of these terms and the Privacy Notice. Keep your login secure, use a name that does not impersonate someone else and do not evade an account suspension.
Only active members who have accepted the current terms may submit wall uploads or forum posts. Your display name, approved posts and any social link you choose to add are visible to people who can access the service. Do not publish your home address or other private information.
4. Content you submit
Before each upload, topic or reply, you must actively accept the Photo, video & community content agreement (version 2026-10-14). It explains contributor responsibility, rights and permissions, public visibility, our limited hosting licence, liability limits and removal requests. It forms part of these community rules.
You are responsible for your photos, videos, text and links. Only submit content you own or have permission to share, including permission from identifiable people where required. Do not post other people’s private details, misleading permission claims, unlawful content or instructions encouraging trespass or vandalism.
No nudity, sexual content, violent or graphic content, threats, harassment, hate, exploitation, spam or impersonation. These rules apply to images, video, text, links and profile names. Keep discussion respectful and relevant to lawful art and supplies.
You keep ownership of your work. You give Writers Supply a non-exclusive permission to store, resize, convert, display and moderate your submission as needed to operate the service. This permission does not transfer ownership or authorise unrelated commercial use of your work. You can request removal through Report a concern.
5. Review, reports and account action
Photos and forum text may be checked automatically and published if they pass. Flagged content and failed checks wait for owner review; videos always require owner approval. Approval is not an endorsement or a guarantee that a submission is accurate, safe or lawful. Existing content is not treated as having accepted a later content agreement retrospectively.
We may decline or remove content that breaks these rules, restrict posting or suspend an account. Suspending an account hides its contributions from public display. We may retain restricted copies and records when reasonably needed to investigate reports, prevent abuse or meet legal obligations.
Use Report on an item or Report a concern in the app to flag harmful content, request removal, challenge a moderation decision or raise a privacy concern. Give the item or account reference and explain the issue. Reports enter the administrator’s review queue; there is no guaranteed immediate response. Do not upload a copy of illegal content to make a report. For immediate danger in Australia, call 000. You may also seek help from eSafety.
6. Third-party content and responsibility
Community posts are contributed by their authors. Their views, statements and actions are their own and are not necessarily those of Writers Supply or its operator. We do not endorse third-party posts, linked sites, retailers or venues merely by displaying them.
To the extent permitted by law, Writers Supply and its operator are not responsible for loss caused by a user’s unlawful or unauthorised submission, another user’s conduct, or your reliance on unverified third-party content. This is not a blanket exclusion of liability: it does not remove our own legal duties or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and does not limit rights under the Australian Consumer Law where applicable.
7. Changes and privacy
We may update features and these terms. A new terms version will require acceptance before further posting. Read the Privacy Notice for how membership, uploads and reports are handled. Continued access to historical posts does not mean a suspended member may post again.
